Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Blacksmithing, forging, metal fabrication.
The candidate will be responsible for heating, shaping, forging, bending, cutting and finishing metal components using traditional and modern techniques
The candidate should be skilled in working with iron, steel and other metals to manufacture, repair and modify tools, structural components, gates, frames, brackets, and other metal products
Experience in structural steel work, heavy fabrication, industrial projects, construction, gates/grill fabrication, machinery components, or general workshop metal work will be preferred
Key Responsibilities
Read and understand basic drawings, sketches, measurements and work instructions
Select and prepare appropriate metal materials according to job requirements
Heat metal using a forge, furnace or other heating equipment to the required temperature
Forge, shape, bend, hammer, stretch, and cut heated metal using hand and power tools
Operate forging hammers, anvils, presses, grinders, cutting machines, and other workshop equipment
Manufacture metal components such as brackets, hinges, frames, gates, supports, tools, and decorative metal work
Perform cutting, grinding, drilling, filling, and finishing of metal components
Carry out basic welding and metal joining work when required
